Delete your HoopSatellite account

You can delete your account and the data tied to it at any time. The quickest way is in the app.

In the app (right away)

Open HoopSatellite and tap the person button at the top right.
Scroll to Privacy and account and tap Delete my account.
Confirm. Your account is deleted immediately, and the app clears what it saved on your phone.

By request (no app needed)

HoopSatellite accounts are anonymous, with no email or password, so there's nothing to log in to here. Instead, email us your handle and friend code. Both are on the You screen; the friend code shows that the account is yours.

No friend code? Send your handle and anything that helps us match it, such as roughly when you last used the app and a court you checked in at or added. We delete an account only when we're confident it's yours.

How long it takes: we delete the account within 30 days of your request, usually within a few days, and reply to let you know.

What gets deleted

Your anonymous account id and sign-in sessions
Your profile: handle, friend code, age band (13 or older), state and time zone offset
Your check-ins
Runs you posted (with everyone's RSVPs and quick replies on them), your spots and quick replies in other runs, and your show-up record
Your XP, streaks, badges and courts-visited count
Your favorite courts
Your follows and followers, and your blocks in both directions
Reports you filed, and reports about you
Your reviews of satellite finds
Courts you added that are still waiting for review or weren't approved, and any "first to find" credit

What stays

Courts you added that were already approved are part of the public map. They stay, with nothing linking them to you.
Busy-time counts for courts hold no account ids, so they aren't linked to you.
Our host's server logs and backups roll off on their own after a short time.

On your phone

Deleting your account in the app also clears your saved reviews, added courts, profile and waiting actions from the phone. Deleting the app removes everything it saved there. If you answered the age screen as under 13, no account was ever made, so there's nothing on our servers to delete.
